SRGC Blue Star Memorial By-Way Marker
On June 14, 2014 10:00 a.m. a dedication ceremony was held for SRGC's Blue Star By-Way marker at the Santa Rosa Memorial Park
Plant material included five varieties of low-growing Thyme, Stipa arundinacea 'Sirocco' (Pheasant's Tail Grass), Hardy Geranium 'Russell Pritchard', Loropetalum chinensis'Chang Nian Hong', Leptospermum scoparium 'Gaity Girl' and Arctostaphylos uva-ursi 'San Bruno Mountain'. Tim O'Brien, member of the local AMVETS Post #40 of Sonoma County assisted SRGC garden club members in seeding the large river rocks donated and planting the plant material purchased. The Santa Rosa Memorial Park grounds crew installed the drip.
Santa Rosa Memorial Park named this section of their property "Blue Star Memorial Garden" in honor of this Santa Rosa Garden Club project.
